I believe The Tower of Babel represents the arrogance of man. We were nearly wiped out by a flood that covered the earth.
GOD told man to replenish the earth. Man decided they wanted to build a tower that reached the heavens. They wanted to enter GOD’s heaven and make a name for themselves their own way.
GOD said because man worked together nothing would be beyond them.
God confounded our language so we couldn’t work on the tower and it forced us to subdue the earth like HE directed from the beginning.
Man’s arrogance repeated itself each time we chose to think one group of people were greater than another. Making a name for themselves. Each time that group rose, they still had to fall.
Man’s arrogance is alive when we look at a pandemic and we don’t want to use science to solve it but go by emotions to not guide us and to ignore it. Gathering together and not wearing masks when we are looked at as one of the most educated countries in the world. Death comes to us all eventually but to play Russian roulette is pretty arrogant.
Man’s arrogance to ignore truth. Racism is a manufactured ideology. All men are created equal. Racisim was designed to falsely explain why one race can enslave another. Making a race less than human give those that try to abuse others a false conscious palliative. Like ignoring covid the abusers don’t stop at people of color but they eventually expand that cruelty to people of their own color. Hitler wanted a master race he would not qualify to be in. Blond, Blue eyed and healthy were descriptions hitler did not meet. He needed drugs to numb the mental and physical pain of his health issues. Most of his top leaders were using drugs in addition to other problems. There may have been one of his leadership that came close to the description. They left a legacy that caused Germany and the world to suffer for years.
Trump testing positive is no surprise. Refuse to wear masks and insists other not wear them. Attack the scientists that tried to warn the country and many followed. Trump and those that support him is responsible for many deaths in this country. Evangelicals saying their conscious is more concerned with abortion, freedom of religion(don’t close our churches during a pandemic that is ravaging the world), setting up crooked lifetime judges.
The Tea Party motto “don’t tread on me” but their lifestyle is often I will tread on you but don’t return the favor. The tea party want their way but are unwilling to share the road. They are helping to promote racism, not just tread but kill and abuse others by endorsing the evil. The klan always in the background. Now we have the” proud boys” what are they proud of? People of color have endured racism from the beginning of this country. Some of the founders didn’t want to continue slavery but the loss of wealth was greater than their moral stability. To soothe their moral conflict, dehumanizing other humans became the norm. Sinking lower led to killing and abusing with no moral boundary. The blood is in the soil calling out. Gen 4:9-10 “Then the LORD said to Cain, “Where is your brother Abel?” “I don’t know,” he replied. “Am I my brother‘s keeper? The LORD said, “What have you done? Listen! Your brother’s blood cries out to me from the ground.”

For the leaders of this people cause them to err; and they that are led of them are destroyed.
Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.
Trump is the evangelical’s god.
Some very prominate church pastors have aligned their churches and supporters with Trump. He is a morally bereft, lying, adulterer, thieving, bullying, and insecure person. Devotion to religion is the ultimate goal but if it is misguided, it can cause great damage. I know a white pastor that said he will vote for president 45 because of his conscious. He is one of the hardest working nice people I know. He said he does not watch TV but verbalizes the fox news talking points. He did not believe Covid is real and abortion is the most important thing to him in this election. He started believing covid was real when his family members started getting it and still questions whether 45 got it or is it a conspiracy. Evangelicals across the country have openly disobeyed laws against gathering despite the dangers. Christian Universities have opened despite the danger of affecting the elderly. Some churches sued their state governments. Some of the fallout was needless deaths and infection to congregants.
Our world is in turmoil. The leader of the “free world” is not free. He not only refused to lead it but started to break the unity of free nations. Tearing down the US relationships with allies, NATO, and the G20 summit. The unity of free nations had the United States of America as a foundation to support defending democracy.
45 was not limited to breaking the foundation of relationships abroad. He is destabilizing the US democratic system. He used his base made up of evangelicals, and other us vs them thinkers. He promised evangelicals the tearing down of abortion and freedom of religion. His abortion promise cost the evangelicals the future of their religion. 45 put immigrants in cages, stole children from their parents and left them homeless, endorses murder to people of color and harm to his opponents.
I am a Christian and know GOD is watching this not made for tv reality show. I believe in Pro-Life, but it is not limited to a fetus that may or may not survive nine months on its own. Hopefully one day Christian education to teach about marriage before conception and reproductive planning so abortion is not an option except for rape or medical necessity. I am not against obeying state law when they are trying to protect my life in the middle of a misunderstood pandemic. GOD allows shakeups to protect us from ourselves. America president Putin 45 is dangerous and if we ignore the warning signs who can we blame. There has never been a president that refused to step down if they lose an election and tried to invalidate it before it is completed. We see what is going on and ignoring truth will not destroy truth.
My question to evangelicals “Does GOD approve murder and mistreatment of people of color in exchange for saving the unborn and religious freedom to gather for worship in the midst of a pandemic? All these well known pastors enabling Trump instead of praying for humanity and morality is not a good look for the christian cause.
